In La Praille, a borough of Genevan, a new modern football stadium with more than 30.000 roofed seats was officially inducted. It replaces the, over 70 years old and not being up to the mark anymore, stadium in the borough Charmilles.

A shopping mall with an underground garage, a conference center, a hotel, television studios, offices and a culture center are part of the Genevan European Cup 2008 stadium. It's excellent accessible in terms of transportation, the location is situated by the freeway, has access to its own train station and is very well connected to the public transportation network.
