Project structure

At the competition decision in October 2003 the architectural concept of the Gloeckner³ Architektur und Städtebau GmbH was awarded first place in a worldwide bidder process for the construction, operation and planning of the National Indoor Stadium.

The contract was awarded to the company BUCID (Beijing Urban Engineering Design and Research Institute) in cooperation with the concept of the Munich Group. Within the scope of the competiton, the Munich Group presented the planning and the operating company concept. The Munich Group is a consortium including the Glöckner International Development GmbH, OBERMEIER Planen + Beraten GmbH and the Olympiapark Munich GmbH.

After the awarding of the contract in October 2003 the Gloeckner³ Architektur und Städtebau GmbH was authorized, together with the local Partner BIAD (Beijing Institute of Architectural Design), to render the continuing planning/preparation for architecture and landscape architecture for the National Indoor Stadium.

The landscape architecture concept was carried out together with the Planungsbüro GTL Landschaftsarchitekten, Kassel. The preparation for the building‘s utilities of the architectural concept was carried out by the company OBERMEIER Planen + Beraten, Munich.
