Nam June Paik Art Center, Suwon-Seoul, South Korea

The from the office Kirsten Schemel Architekten, Berlin 2003 designed Nam June Paik Museum was awarded with the first prize in an international architecture competition and was opened after an revision by KSMS Schemel Stankovic Gesellschaft von Architekten mbH in the end of April 2008. Numerous representatives of the country's political and cultural public attented the ceremony.

Its recent opening provided the artist, who died a few months before the ground-breaking ceremony in 2005, with a museum in his native country that will serve simultaneously as an exhibition venue and a center for multimedia research and communication.
