MTU Aero Engines Polska opened its Rzeszów facility in 2009, where it manufactures, assembles, repairs and develops engines and engine parts. The site has a manufacturing and maintenance hall, and a three-storey office wing. The two buildings are set apart for better lighting in the offices but are still connected by a joint entrance hall. The vertical ribbon glazing of the hall windows continues onto the roof area. For users of the nearby airport, this "fifth facade" is a remarkable sight on take-off and landing, particularly at night.
