Project Overview
Mbombela Stadium, Nelspruit South Africa The Mbombela Stadium has been built for the FIFA Football World-Cup South Africa 2010. The Stadium is named after the local cummunity which the Town Nelspruit also belongs to. Mmbombela stems from the siSwati language and literally means "a lot of people on small space". Mmbombela has been allocated 4 World Cup day games. Negotiations are in progress for potential home soccer and rugby teams. Of the 5 new 2010 stadiums Mbombela is the only purely South African designed. The stadium design incorporates numerous business opportunities including sport events, conferences, music concerts etc. Client:
