Project Overview
Mansfield Community Hospital © Timothy Soar Located south of Stockwell Gate, Mansfield Community Hospital offers a positive and dynamic civic identity, reflecting the improved clinical model within. The new entrance engages with the local community and affords a more inviting environment to the public. It also presents a symbol of the new model of care. The challenge of the brief was to present a positive identity for the Trusts, on a site that was separated by a physical barrier from the community. Most of the site frontage is a steep retaining wall which reinforces this barrier. The existing entrance was also hidden and used by the visitors, staff, patients and deliveries alike, creating a congestion and confusion. Client:
