Project Overview
Federation Tower Moscow, Russia![]() The foundation stone of the Federation high rise building on property nr 13 was laid in February 2005. Once completed in 2010, it will be the tallest building in Europe. The complex was built according to plans created in cooperation by Prof. Peter Schweger (ASP Schweger Associates General Planning GmbH, Hamburg) and Sergei Tchoban (nps tchoban voss Architects BDA, Berlin). The design was chosen in an international contest where various Russian, European and American architectural firms had their ideas on offer. Once the choice was made, a long adjustment period followed in which the plans were modified to suit the developer’s needs and council requirements. In spite of this, there are no huge differences between the original competition design and the actual building. The core idea of two towers that are positioned around a central axis remains.
