Architecture

It was a long process to find the optimum shape and form for the complex. It will be a new signature landmark on the Moscow horizon and the aim is for it to have an expressive, clear and aesthetically pleasing silhouette that looks equally good from all side.

To lift the two towers from the base block, they appear recessed from the four floors directly above the base. A six storey high, glass clad base pedestal optically balances the dynamic composition of the two towers and a needle like structure in the middle that houses panorama lifts. The two towers are 240m and 355m high respectively and the “needle” with its antenna reaches a height of 450m. The base pedestal creates a human benchmark on the pedestrian level. The indentation between the base pedestal and the towers is emphasized by a four storey high recessed “lens”. The towers (in the shape of two spherical, equilateral triangles) are built up on top of this lens. With increasing height the towers become more and more narrow.
