Synergy received all Indoor Environmental Quality credits under LEED NC Canada. Only low VOC paints, coatings, and adhesives were specified and used during construction. The project avoided the use of any composite wood based materials that contained urea formaldehyde.

Access to natural light and views was considered early in the design process and given the highest priority. Virtually all occupied spaces at Synergy are provided with daylight and views. Mechanical shading devices and zone specific lighting controls provide occupants a superior quality of light.

Synergy utilizes CO2 sensors to provide feedback on space ventilation performance.
Synergy makes use of operable windows, temperature and lighting controls to meet the credit requirements for controllability of systems.
Daylight is provided for 99% of all regularly occupied spaces, and views are provided for 97% of all regularly occupied spaces.
Only low VOC adhesives, sealants, and coatings were used during construction.
