With the Manufacture, the Cité du Design re-colonizes a part of the city that had long since been forgotten. The rediscovery/re-annexing, as well as the experience of this unknown part of the city will become a part of the building’s development and its identity.

The Observatoire tower gives the Cité du Design a unique architectural characteristic that points to it from afar. It also provides a view of the city from a previously unexplored vantage point. From this elevated point one can follow the transformation of the forgotten industrial area into a lively inner city area.
