From a knight castle to a luxury hotel

By means of an affectionate renovation and upgrade a top-class luxury hotel emerged from this old knight castle. Aside from that the formal designed gardens we're restored and a 18 hole golf court, golf lodges and a clubhouse we're built.

The existing house was restored in a contemporary deisgn. 109 suits, a hotel lobby with reception, a restaurand and a bar are located in it. A spa area with a swimming pool, fitness area as well as treatment rooms we're built in the new building.

The challenge was to contain the new buildings in the historic environment without affecting the visible remains of the existent buildings. This has been achieved by forming a new building independent of the old building in the west. The connection was compounded with a glassed passage, containing the public part of the recreation area.

The whole conception is arranged as a series of interconnected pavillons whilst the existing building act as the front entrance and reception. Contemporary and modern elements establish a contrast to the existing building.
