Busan Cinema Center, South Korea

COOP HIMMELB(L)AU’s design for the Busan Cinema Center and home of the Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) creates a new union of open space, cultural events, entertainment, technology and architecture. Through this union a lively and pulsating emblem is created that is a symbol for contemporary culture in an urban landscape.

Media, technology, entertainment and recreation melt into an open architecture that is suitable for changeable as well as custom designed events. The result is a flexible and dynamically reacting space that acts as an urban catalyst for cultural exchange and transformation.
