Architectural Design

Burj Khalifa reflects the patterning systems embodied in Islamic architecture and reflects the global community it is designed to serve. The tower is composed of three "wing" elements arranged around a central core. As the tower rises, setbacks occur at the end bay of each "wing" in an upwardspiraling pattern that decreases the mass of the tower as the height increases.

A high performance exterior cladding system allows the building to withstand the extreme temperatures experienced during the summer months in Dubai.
