Planning
PlanningThe University had completed a Campus Master Plan containing many requirements for individual building projects, including building footprints with the number of floors and building heights, and a conceptual design for the BSRB based upon these requirements. © Jeff Goldberg/Esto Although Polshek Partnership agreed with the principles of the Master Plan and many of the suggested approaches inherent in its concept design, the design team wanted to explore all the planning options the site had to offer. The University agreed to our exploring several alternatives. The architects developed five different options, including the original conceptual design, which was used as a basis for comparison. Ultimately, the University selected one of the alternative strategies as it best resolved issues of campus design, building identity, operational efficiency and medical center image, while still incorporating the underlying principles of the overall Master Plan. |
