Munich Airport - Terminal 2 and Parking garage

The new Terminal 2 developed east of the existing passenger area in direct correlation to the Munich Airport Centre (MAC) which opened in September 1999. Moving away from the modular concept of the existing departure building, Terminal 2 has a 30 meter high central hall. The entire land based infrastructure and passenger dispatch is located in the hall – from ticket sales to check in, to passenger and baggage control. Amongst other things, the light flooded hall contains a central information point, 24 ticket counters, 120 check in counters and 26 security gates. The pier building provides 114 gates and waiting areas, as well as shops and restaurants. Over 24 passenger bridges allow passengers to reach their planes and busses.
