News from Bothe-HildEnergy-saving solutions regarding gates The rising energy costs and the requirements for energy savings are resulting in a change of behavior. Technical improvements at heating systems, more economical machines as well as dam procedures are the order of the day. Up to 60% of the entire energy consumption fall upon space heating. Big gate openings are playing a rather important role regarding energy loss. Insulated sectional- and overhead folding doors provide you with the required sound- and heat insulation. The rising share of glazed gates which provide comfortable sunlight. They are also causing a loss of heat, if it's not paid attention to the glazings quality. ![]() new energy-glazing-line With the new energy-glazing-line, BOTHE-HILD presents a better, future-proof solution. A triple glazing with a total thickness of 29 mm features an u-value of 1.9, which is an improvement of 40% compared to conventional double glazing. This thickness is made possible by the use of aluminium profiles with a construction depth of 46mm. Also steel panel gates receive a glazing construction in this thickness, so that the view-section can be outfitted with a 29 mm double- or triple glazing. In this gate model, a highly isolated foamed panel with energy triple glazing in a 46mm thick aluminium frame provides the desired u-value. At all gate models, the surface of the acrylic glass can additionally be coated by the use of the new NANO-method. Silicate particles can be embedded on the surface of double- and triple-plates consisting of a specific copolymer. These elements, not larger than a few nanometers, result in a glass-like and scratch-proof surface along with an increase of the chemical resistance and most notably optical brilliance. This system is based on a design of the "Fraunhofer Institut für Oberflächentechnik" and has specifically been optimised for using in gates. A surface refinement, which provides crystal clear and scratch-proof panels and a real-glass like appearance. The panels become uv-resistant, dirt tolerant and outmost easy to clean. Another energy loss can be avoided by faster gate opening and closing. It takes about 25 seconds to open and 25 seconds to close a conventional gate of 4 metres of height. This time-critical phase has been optimised by BOTHE-HILD. Not only by up to sixfold faster opening speed, but rather by the four- to sixfold closing speed of the gate systems. This is made possible by the use of a fast mode engine with the frequency inverter drive Speedtronic FU. At the same time the gate accelerates gently and softly brakes towards the stop position. The wearout of ropes, bottom rollers and hinges is minimised by especially even rails. A new generation of gate shutdown The new patented gate deactivation synchronal-scanner 3XL from BOTHE-HILD allows high speed in downward movement and provides ideal safety measures. First of all the closing-edge-covering of the low barrier wicket for automatic operations is assured. ![]() synchron scanner 3XL Two optical sensors, applied in- and outside, are controlling the danger spot advanced and contact-free. When opening the gate, they are brought into monitoring position. The sensors completely sink into the side profile during the last few centimeters of the closing operation. Therefore the entire system is completely shielded from wetness, dirt, ice or snow with closed gate. Especially external damage by persons, forklifts or other mechanical effects are excluded.
The low barrier from BOTHE-HILD could be designed to a total thickness of The challenge was to develop a stable and simple designed system out of sparse parts for guaranteeing the lowest wearout possible. At the same time it had to fulfill a high degree of safety requirements for the protection of persons and objects and had to be resistant to outside effects like sunlight. The result was the synchronic scanner 3XL: A affordable and universal system which could be applied to new and, by means of a conversion kit, already delivered BOTHE-HILD gates.
