The 24th World Congress of Architecture, “UIA2011 TOKYO”, will be held in Tokyo, Japan from 25 September to 1 October in 2011. Japan will first host the UIA congress that has taken place triennial in cities around the world.

The UIA congress brings together thousands of architects, architectural students and engineers from all over the world. Contemporary architecture is intimately linked to all activities on the planet and has a significant influence on them. In the 21st century, architecture will be called upon to fulfill an even greater role and responsibilities in the creation of sustainable societies and attractive cities, and in the protection of human life and lifestyles.

At Cityscape Global
World Architecture Congress |

The WAC at Cityscape Global 2011 is focusing on practical applications of sustainable architecture, cost-effective methods of green building and inspiring lessons in modern architecture. It will stage at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 27 to 29 September 2011.

| Post-Congress Workshops are scheduled on 29 September 2011. They are separately bookable and places are limited.
The workshops offer innovative content, international case studies and applicable regional solutions to design challenges.
Topics are "Sustainable Design: Applying sustainable architecture techniques to project design" and "Masterplanning: Transforming ‘megavoids’ into livable occupied space".

Under the topic ‘Steel Construction – Global Challenges for 2050’ the 2011 European Convention for Constructional Steel Congress will handle important steel construction issues being faced around the globe. It will be combined with the ECCS Annual Meetings in Potsdam, Germay from 21 to 23 September.

Timber Expo will take place on 27 and 28 September 2011 in Coventry. The "In Touch with Timber Conference" will be an integral part of the fair. A Buyers' Forum, Timber talk seminars, product-tutorials and the presentation of the Wood Award are further highlights of the exhibition.

WAF is a key event in the global architectural calendar and has attracted more than 5,000 delegates from around the world since 2008. Renowned as one of the world’s greatest cities for architecture, Barcelona will again play host to WAF between 2 to 4 November.

The World Architecture Festival Awards 2011 Interiors and Fit Out category has evolved into an innovative festival that will celebrate the most inspired interiors around the world. "Inside" will run from the 2-3 November 2011 at the CCIB across two days of WAF.
