The Chamber of Architects of Turkey and its Antalya branch announce the fourth edition of an international award for young architects. It honors the winning projects on the subject of office buildings of tomorrow. This award is run under the auspices of the International Union of Architects.

The Chicago office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM) won the international competition to design the Greenland Group Suzhou Center, in Wujiang, China. The 358-meter supertall tower will become the defining visual landmark.

The design team of Studio Schiattarella and Tecturae from Italy won the competition. The objective of the winning proposal was to adhere to the specific route adopted by Saudi culture. The beduin tent is an icon and representation of the culture of Riyadh.

The international convention on "Exhibit Nature + Explain Science" in the Senckenberg Natural History Museum, Frankfurt/Main, Germany will be held from 6 to 7 June 2012. Till the end of January museum experts, exhibition designers and architects may submit proposals.

The term "supertall" (which refers to a building over 300 meters) is thus no longer adequate to describe these buildings: we are entering the era of the "megatall.'" This term is now officially being used by the CTBUH to describe buildings over 600 meters in height.

The 7th Biennal will take place in Barcelona, Spain in September 2012. The Biennal has expressed its desire to study and discuss landscape interventions. Deadline for presenting project's documentation is 30 March 2012.

The Zagreb Society of Architects organizes and manages the open, on-line, one-stage, anonymous, ideas competition for the urban-architectural concept design for the BADEL SITE redevelopment concerning urban planning and architecture. Submit before 5 April 2012.

A monographic exhibition on Woha, prize winners of the International Highrise Award 2010 and the Lubetkin Prize, is shown in DAM, Frankfurt, Germany. From 2 Dec 2011 to 29 Apr 2012 their visions are presented by means of tropical homes, green highrises and umcompleted projects.

Timber Expo will take place at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry/UK on 25 and 26 September 2012. As a timber showcase for construction and sustainable building materials and design, Timber Expo 2011 attracted 4,000 visitors, including architects, engineers and contractors.
