DOMOTEX Middle East 2009DOMOTEX Middle East continues to grow Date: May 17-19, 2009
From May 17 to 19, 2009, DOMOTEX Middle East, the International Trade Fair for Carpets and Floor Coverings in Dubai, opens its doors to the public again. Deutsche Messe AG is expecting some 290 exhibitors from the region and other countries worldwide, who will be presenting their new products on a total display area of 14,000 square metres (previous year: 12,000 square metres). "The response from exhibitors has been extremely encouraging. Demand for high-quality floor coverings in the region remains very strong. A large number of major construction projects are now entering the interior finishing stage. That creates a big requirement for information on the part of architects, interior designers, project planners and building contractors. And that is good news for DOMOTEX Middle East in 2009", says Angela Schaschen, Director of the Dubai Branch of Deutsche Messe. The range of exhibits at DOMOTEX Middle East 2009 embraces hand-made and machine-made carpets and rugs, textile and resilient floor coverings, parquet and other wood floorings, laminates, floorings for sports facilities, fibres, yarns and textiles, application technologies and laying techniques, ceramic tiles, natural stone floorings and marble floors. The main target audience for the trade fair is the wholesale and retail trade in carpets and floor coverings, decision-makers and buyers working for building contractors, architects and interior designers, project planners, floor-laying professionals and other specialists in this field. Special presentations and feature displays make a visit to the show doubly rewarding. For example, at "Creative Flooring" exhibitors will be showcasing a wide range of flooring solutions in an informative and entertaining way. This year there is a special emphasis on floorings for heavily trafficked commercial areas. Using floors in hotels and office buildings as examples, specialists will demonstrate which floor-laying techniques are best suited to this type of application. The special presentation "Designers Corner" was introduced last year for the first time and proved so popular that it is being repeated this year. The purpose of this display is to provide new inspiration for architects and designers through colour, pattern design and technical innovations in floor coverings. Exhibitors who specialize in high-quality and unusual designs will be showing their new products here and profiling prestige projects they have worked on. "Designers Corner" is sponsored by the Association for Professional Interior Designers (APID) and the American University in Dubai (AUD). For the first time the Association for Professional Interior Designers (APID) is holding its annual seminar on the subject of floor coverings at DOMOTEX Middle East. On 13 May 2009 the Association will take over the "Designers Corner" area to report on the latest trends and developments to an audience of interior designers and contract furnishers. More than 100 senior architects and interior designers from Dubai and the Gulf Cooperation Council are expected to attend. Together with DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR in Shanghai DOMOTEX Middle East in Dubai is the second overseas offshoot of the leading international trade fair DOMOTEX HANNOVER. This formidable trio of events gives the international floor coverings industry a global trade show platform for the exploitation of lucrative sales opportunities in new markets. ![]() Further Information: |
