Airport Show 2010

Date: 25-27 April 2010
Venue: Airport Expo, Dubai, UAE

The organizers of the The Airport Show in Dubai have announced that they expect to see the number of project buyers attending the event double over the previous year. The announcement comes as the organizers have increased the focus on further improving the return on investment (ROI) that exhibitors and visitors can generate from their participation.

More than 80 purchasing decision makers and project leaders from live and current airport construction projects across the region are expected to attend. A significant number have already confirmed their participation, including representatives from Doha International Airport in Qatar, Khartoum New International Airport in Sudan, Maharashtra Airport Development Co. Ltd. in Mumbai, Cairo Airport Company in Egypt, as well as some from further afield, including Oslo Airport in Norway, Tan son Nhat International airport in Vietnam and Cape Town International Airport in South Africa.

“Regional demand has been increasing significantly with more than AED 220 billion worth of airport-related projects estimated to be under way. At least 39 airports across the region are either under construction or undergoing modernization,” said Mohamad Bader-Eddin, Show Director, Reed Exhibitions.

The Airport Show will open its doors for the tenth time from 25-27 April 2010 in Airport Expo Dubai.

Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Dubai Airports, the show is a key regional event supported by leading international industry associations, local government authorities and aviation companies.

Bader-Eddin continued, “With such world-class projects in progress, requiring the latest technologies and services, we are expecting the 2010 Dubai Airport Show to achieve new heights of success, and deliver significant returns for those participating. Airport authorities and contractors, in other words, buyers, will come from more than 20 different countries with an aim to place orders and to learn about new products and services offers. Exhibitors and visitors will be presented with a wealth of opportunities to directly interface with these buyers in a dedicated and professional environment.”

One of the exhibitors will be TDA Lefebure of France, a specialist in power-supply equipment for airports. It will present its new Skypit 400Hz cable retriever at the Dubai Airport Show. Skypit is a 400Hz aeroplane cable retriever that can be fitted directly to the embarkation bridge. It offers airport operators numerous advantages in terms of increased security and reduced maintenance costs, as well as improved life expectancy of the equipment and greater ease of use.
