DOMOTEX Middle East is the only international trade fair for carpets and floor coverings for the Middle East/North Africa (MENA). Boasting a bigger and better range of products and services it is now set to further consolidate its position as the most important trade show for this sector in the entire Gulf region. From 10-12 May 2010 exhibitors at DOMOTEX Middle East in the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre (DICEC) will be showcasing their products and services to a professional audience from across the MENA region.

In spite of the current economic crisis the average gross domestic product in the MENA countries is expected to grow by 4.63 percent between 2010 and 2013. The building industry plays a major role in this positive trend. Saudi Arabia, for example, has launched a program worth 38 billion US dollars to cater for the needs of a growing number of tourists and visitors seeking accommodation during the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages. In addition, around 30 billion US dollars is being invested in new building projects. There are plans to build approx. 130 skyscrapers in Mecca. The projects include hotels, congress centres and other commercial buildings.

The range of exhibits at DOMOTEX Middle East 2010 is geared to these market needs, and therefore features the following product groups: hand-made and machine-made carpets; textile and resilient floor coverings; parquet and other wood floors; laminates; floors for sports arenas and sports facilities; fibres, yarns and textiles; application and floor laying techniques and equipment; ceramic tiles, natural stone floors and marble floors.

The latest trends and developments, in particular those of interest to architects and interior designers, are concentrated in the special zone or display area entitled Designers Corner. The special presentation Creative Flooring showcases a wide array of floor coverings and how they can be used to best effect. Creative Flooring is a venture backed by the U.K. Academy of Flooring Skills and features live demonstrations of the latest techniques and products.

The major target groups of DOMOTEX Middle East are wholesalers and retailers in the carpet and floor coverings sector, decision-makers from construction companies as well as architects, interior designers, project planners, floor layers and fitters - in fact, any group of professionals working in this field.

Deutsche Messe is responsible for three major trade fairs in the floor coverings sector: DOMOTEX HANNOVER (13-16 January 2010) is the leading international trade fair for carpets and floor coverings and a major international summit for the flooring trades. DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR (23-25 March 2010) in Shanghai is the biggest trade fair for carpets and floor coverings in Asia, while DOMOTEX Middle East (10-12 May 2010) in Dubai is the only trade fair of its kind in the MENA region.
