MEED invites to the first Building Sustainable Communities in Qatar Conference, focusing on the topic 'Achieving high performance buildings in a sustainable environment.' The event is scheduled for the 15 and 16 March 2010 at the Marriott Hotel in Doha, Qatar.

At the event local and international experts will discuss the key themes arising from sustainable development. Developers, contractors, architects, engineers and consultants will inform on the latest issues surrounding:

• Qatar's first rating system (Qatar Sustainability Assessment System QSAS), current building codes and regulations
• Designing sustainable environments
• Economic implications of going green
• Technology designed to make the development of green buildings cost effective
• Project updates on the current developments in Qatar
