“Spain was chosen due to the incredible level of investment and growth in renewables. The significant industrial make up of the Basque economy points to the prime importance of the energy sector as the driving force behind investment and competitiveness. The Basque region has invested over 4 billion Euros in combined cycle power plants, cogeneration and a variety of renewable energy source with its aim to treble it electricity generation”, says Richard Hease.

“We have received tremendous support from the Basque Government, the City Mayor and Tourism Bodies as well as the key players in renewable energy industry in Spain”, adds Hease.

“The Bilbao Exhibition Centre acted as the prime mover in the joint bid, bringing together efforts to ensure the best services and the highest standard of management, with the proximity and decision-making capabilities of the organisations involved being a major asset. As a result, The European Future Energy Forum will be organised as a joint venture between Turret Middle East Ltd and the Bilbao Exhibition Centre” said Hease.
