International Trade Fair for DESIGN Collection & LIFESTYLE

Interior Lifestyle Tokyo is the leading “Design-Oriented” trade fair for the Japanese high-end interior market. This trade fair is held for the professionals and has been providing best business opportunities to both exhibitors and visitors.

Drawing from the success of Messe Frankfurt world-renowned largest consumer goods fair Ambiente and international textile fair Heimtextil, Interior Lifestyle Tokyo brings a combined fair concept to the Japanese high-end market. The fair serves the top trend pool for kitchen, dining, gift items as well as home accessories and home textiles.

From small local workshops to large enterprises, the trade fair site holds impressive arrays of exhibition booths. The wide range of visitors of various trades including retailers, designers, architects and contractors explore the cutting edge of Japanese lifestyle trends.

The previous Interior Lifestyle Tokyo (2009) hosted 630 exhibitors (438 domestic, 192 overseas) from 30 countries and regions and welcomed 26,310 visitors from 32 countries and regions. Despite of the world-wide economic depression, Interior Lifestyle Tokyo 2009 succeeded in showing the exhibitors and the visitors a way out of the difficult business situation. New design impulses, innovative ideas based on the sustainability and intriguing collaboration between companies seems to be the key to success. A lot of dedicated trade visitors made their way to the fair 2009 in searching for the latest design trend, new products and inspiration to make their business better. As the result, the participants of the fair 2009 ended up being very satisfied with the lively and productive atmosphere, not to mention the high professionalism of the visitors. As the fair is growing, the fair 2010 is expected to be held even more successful.

Interior Lifestyle Tokyo attracts highly-motivated professionals who visit the fair for the purpose of products purchasing and trend information gathering. According to the Visitor Questionnaire of the fair 2009, more than 70% of the visitors were either decisionmakers or influential people in product purchasing. Those businessminded visitors gave the fair 2009 high marks and 98% of them answered that they will definitely or probably visit the fair for 2010. The visitors with a clear purpose to purchase products created active business at the fair. This was reflected in the result of the exhibitors’ survey. 99% of the exhibitors said either that they will definitely exhibit at the next Interior Lifestyle Tokyo or they are considering exhibiting at the next fair in 2010.

Special highlight of the fair 2010: Giving Style
Serving as an important meeting point for interior design industry professionals from the Asia Pacific region, the fair offers not only a chance to see a wide range of the latest products from all over the world, but also insight into the trend of home fashion and interior decoration. Among several exhibition areas, the attention-grabbing exhibition is a special highlight of the year held at the Atrium space. In thanks for all the people who support this show for the past 20 years, the theme chosen for the 2010 special highlight is “Giving Style”. Picked up as a gift, products become not mere goods but communication tool to express one’s feeling. Gift items for all the occasions will be displayed at this section.

Interior Lifestyle Tokyo supports innovative design power!
Japan's most important consumer goods fair is distinguished by energy and passion for innovative design. The designers’ area named “talents” is for talented, young, international designers and their works. The aim of this area is encourage up-and-coming designers and forward-looking exhibitors with innovative products and to bridge between the designers and companies seeking innovative design. Every year, around ten designer / design units will be chosen to present their prototypes at this section. And one selected designer / design unit will be nominated to the young designers area “talents” at the world’s largest consumer goods fair Ambiente held in February 2010, in Frankfurt. Interior Lifestyle Tokyo continuously supports young talented designers to fly ahead in the world.
