The European Prize for Urban Public Space is a biennial event organized to acknowledge and encourage the creation, recovery and improvement of public space in European cities. The Prize highlights the social and political dimension of architecture. Register by 19 January 2012.
All students, architects, engineers and designers may take part in this competition. There are no restrictions regarding site, program or size as long as the outstanding idea is supposed to redefine skyscraper design. 24 January 2012 will be the last project submission deadline.
The Award arose from the international manifestation of the decennial of the foundation of the School of Architecture of Ferrara, Italy in 2003. For both, professional and student categories the registration ends on 31 December 2011.
Harpa - Reykjavik Concert Hall and Conference Centre has won two international awards in one week. Harpa was selected as winner at the annual 'Civic Trust Awards' and the Concert Hall will be recognised as 'Best Performance Space 2012' by the travel magazine Travel+Leisure.
The Henning Larsen Foundation is launching the international competition "Time and Space" on writing about architecture. Entries can be submitted in Danish or English. Deadline for submission is 12 March 2012. The winners will be announced on 20 August 2012.
The Chamber of Architects of Turkey and its Antalya branch announce the fourth edition of an international award for young architects. It honors the winning projects on the subject of office buildings of tomorrow. This award is run under the auspices of the International Union of Architects.
The Zagreb Society of Architects organizes and manages the open, on-line, one-stage, anonymous, ideas competition for the urban-architectural concept design for the BADEL SITE redevelopment concerning urban planning and architecture. Submit before 5 April 2012.
The Wood Awards will feature all entries on social media. This online exhibition will give entrants the opportunity to inspire others. The Wood Awards is free to enter. Building and furniture entries completed in the last two years and not entered before can be submitted before 24 May.
With the creation of the new "10 Year Award" in 2013, the CTBUH issues nine Tall Building Awards annually - seven recognizing excellence in design and construction and two lifetime achievement awards. Submission deadline is 30 April 2013.
Programme Director Michael Hammond invited nominations for the title of World Architect 2012. A winner will be selected by a special poll of the WAN jury panel and announced at World Architecture Day London on 1 October 2012.
