The European Prize for Urban Public Space is a biennial event organized to acknowledge and encourage the creation, recovery and improvement of public space in European cities. The Prize highlights the social and political dimension of architecture. Register by 19 January 2012.
All students, architects, engineers and designers may take part in this competition. There are no restrictions regarding site, program or size as long as the outstanding idea is supposed to redefine skyscraper design. 24 January 2012 will be the last project submission deadline.
The Department of Spatial and Sustainable Design at the Vienna University of Technology is holding an international student competition for sustainable architecture and regional planning. Registration starts on 31 May 2011, Submission ends on 01 February 2012.
The Award arose from the international manifestation of the decennial of the foundation of the School of Architecture of Ferrara, Italy in 2003. For both, professional and student categories the registration ends on 31 December 2011.
The magazine eVolo invites students, architects and designers to apply for the 2011 Skyscraper Competition. The aim of this annual competition is to discuss, redefine and develop innovative concepts of what is understood as a skyscraper. Submission deadline: 18 January 2011.
The IIDA International Interior Design Association calls for entries for the 38th Annual Interior Design Competition. The competition is open to design professionals worldwide. Categories include Residential, Corporate, Institutional among others. Submission deadline: 16 February 2011.
The WAN Awards 21 for 21 category is a major international competition, and runs alongside the six bi-monthly WAN 'Excellence in Design' sector series. The aim of this award is to identify 21 architects who could be the leading lights in the 21st Century. Submission deadline: 28 Feb. 2011.
The international WAN Awards are a major international awards programme, which runs on a bi-monthly format by sector. First category in 2011 is Education: If you have designed an educational building - whether built or unbuilt - submit your work by 28 February 2011.
The IOC, IAKS and IPC are organizing the most important international architectural awards for sports and leisure. Admitted are buildings completed and commissioned between 1 January 2004 and 31 March 2010.
Deadline for participation: 31 March 2011.
The UIA invites architecture students worldwide to participate at an international architectural design competition under the theme “DESIGN 2050”. The winners will present their proposals at the UIA2011 TOKYO Congress in September 2011. Entries can be submitted until 27 April 2011.
