The international biannual "Zumtobel Group Award for Sustainability and Humanity in the Built Environment", curated and organised by Aedes Berlin has two categories: "Built Environment" and "Research and Initiative". Submission will end on 1 December 2011.

Union Investment Real Estate GmbH announces the biennial Prime Property Award under the aegis of the UIA. The Award rewards completed projects in Europe that incorporate sustainable architecture, socio-cultural sustainability and commercial success. Submit by 15 Dec. 2011.

The WAN AWARDS Interiors + Design Sector is a major international competition, and runs alongside the 6 bi-monthly WAN 'Excellence in Design' series for 2010. The Interiors + Design Sector covers all interior design projects and products. Submit your entry by 15 Dec. 2010.

The international WAN Awards are a major international competition. For the first time ever the category 'Effectiveness' is launched. If you can demonstrate that your building - completed in or before March 2009 - has proven effective, you can enter for the awards. Submit by 31 Dec. 2010.

Until 28 February 2011 you can submit your entry for the Lamp Lighting Solutions Awards. The international awards value creativity, sustainability and innovation of lighting projects in the categories architectural interior and exterior lighting, urban and landscape lighting and student proposals.

The Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction calls for entries for their USD 2 million competition for projects and visions in sustainable construction. The Award also includes a student category ("Next Generation"). Submission deadline: 23 March 2011.

Until 6 April 2010 international architects can submit their candidature for a Training and Teaching Centre for Sustainable Development Professionals. The centre is to be built in Chwiter near Marrakech in Morocco.

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat calls for nominations for their CTBUH Annual Awards. The Council awards five Best Tall Building awards and two Lifetime Achievement awards. Deadline for receipt of nominations: 30 April 2010.

Facing a "2nd Space Age" requires new approaches in designing space. Electrolux Design Lab 2010 invites international undergraduate and graduate industrial design students to create home appliances that consider shrinking domestic spaces. Submission deadline: 1 May 2010.
