The Chamber of Architects of Turkey and its Antalya regional Branch have
launched an ideas competition in the framework of the International Young
Architects Meeting in Antalya to be held in May 2010.
The competition theme is public squares of the future. Competitors are
invited to imagine a scenario, on the site of their choice for these urban areas
that have been mankind’s privileged spaces for interaction from the earliest
times. This competition has been approved by the International Union of
Architects.
Participation
The competition is open to architects born after 1971 and having the right to
practice in any UIA member country. There is no registration fee. Competitors
register when sending their entries. The competition languages are Turkish and
English.
Prizes
A total amount of 6 500 euros will be awarded. 1st prize 2 500 euros; 2nd prize
1 500 euros; 3rd prize 1 000 euros. Prize awarded by the participants 1 500
euros.
Jury
The international jury is composed of the following architects: Nicholas de
Monchaux (USA) representing UIA, Sasa Randic (Croatia), Luciano Lazzari (Italy),
Cengiz Bektas (Turkey) and Ysun Cosar Regnier (Turkey). Dejan Stampar (Slovenia)
and Osman Aydin (Turkey) architects, will sit as deputy jurors.

Exhibition of projects, and prize giving: 22 May 2010
