Environmental Design has been recognised at D&AD since the 1980’s, with legends such as Thomas Heatherwick, Norman Foster and Philippe Starck amongst those who have had their work picked out by the judges. The best Environmental Design of the year sits alongside work in other disciplines ranging from Websites and Graphic Design, to Music Videos and Press Advertising.

If you've worked on a great project this year, be it an exhibition, restaurant or brand experience, submit it for 2010. Winners receive the coveted Yellow Pencil, global exposure and a place in the D&AD Annual.

Entries will be judged by a panel of leading Environmental Designers, led by Foreman Mark Dytham of Klein Dytham Architecture, Tokyo.

Entry Criteria
Work entered into the D&AD Awards must have been:

  • Commercially released between 1 January and 31 December 2009
  • Produced in response to a genuine brief from a client
  • Made available to the public through a legal medium or mediums!
  • Approved and paid for by the client

Concept designs or works created solely for the purpose of entering competitions are not eligible. Neither should your Entry have been entered into the same category by another Entrant or submitted into the Awards in a previous year.

In the event that a jury queries the eligibility of an Entry, the Entrant will be required to provide documentary evidence to demonstrate the eligibility of an Entry.

Judges are asked to consider whether entries are:
