Award
The European Architectural Photography Prize, has been awarded on a two-yearly basis since 1995. Since 2003, the prize has been awarded by architekturbild e.v., a non-profit organization, and since 2008 in cooperation with the German Architecture Museum, Frankfurt.

Theme
The theme is »New Homeland«. Globalization, feared just a few years ago, is now shaping life and changing the world. Wars are forcing to people to flee, as they always have done, but where do they go? They all search for a »New Homeland« and many find one where they were least expecting it. Demolitions, conversions and new development now take place in ever shorter cycles – this is another way that new homelands are created. The theme should be explored in coherent series of pictures.

Requirements
Submissions should consist of a series of four photographs on this theme (as prints, maximum format: 40 x 40 cm; the longest picture edge must be at least 30 cm long, and no longer than 50 cm for panorama pictures). Entries with more than four photographs will not be accepted. Only one entry per photographer. The photographs themselves should not be more than three years old. The photographs will be judged as a series. High technical quality in the submitted material is a prerequisite.

Entry Fee
The entry fee is 50 Euros. Along with the filled-out form, entrants from Germany and other EU countries should send - 50 Euros in cash or - attach a receipt for the transfer of the entry fee to the account of architekturbild e.v., Account Number 2524010, BW Bank, BLZ 600 501 01, BIC/ S.W.I.F.T.-Code SOLADEST, IBAN DE 10 6005 0101 0002524010.

Conditions of participation
The competition procedure is anonymous. The competitor confirms with his / her signature that he or she is the rightful owner of the photographs submitted. Third party rights must not be affected.

All photographs submitted must have a filled out label attached to the back (with a code number chosen by the entrant and details of location, date etc.). Entrants can download these labels and the entry form as a PDF document from www.architekturbild-ev.de >award call for entries 2009. The code number chosen by the entrant must also be entered on the entry form. The name of the photographer should not be written on the photographs or their reverse. The entry form must be filled out completely and submitted to the organizers with the photographs and proof of payment of the entry fee to the address given below (see »Address for submissions»).
