The WAN 2011 Colour in Architecture Award is still open... but only until October 31st!

WAN Colour in Architecture Award 2011

Submission deadline: 31 October 2011

Set to become one of the most exciting and inspirational of all the award categories, Colour in Architecture celebrates and promotes the best in architectural design that benefits from using colour as part of the scheme.

The use of colour in the built environment will be increasingly important and integral to the way our cities evolve in the next few decades, especially with the benefit of new technology, both in surface coatings and LED façades.

The competition is open to all projects completed and unbuilt that have used colour as an integral part of the scheme. For the
completed projects, they must have been completed on or after 1 January 2006. There is no date restriction on the 'unbuilt' category, and you may enter any design for the above typology, whether your design is under construction or concept design only. Please note that this category excludes interior design-only projects.

Judging criteria
The jury will judge entries on a number of factors including originality, innovation, form and special quality, sustainability and context. They will also be looking for individuals that manage to incorporate fresh ideas and forward thinking into their designs whilst still keeping within the boundaries of commercial viability and sustainability. Another key factor will be the quality of the presentation; how the architect conveys his or her ideas to the panel will be seen as a vital communication skill.

Please email submissions and direct any questions or problems regarding entries / registration to: amy.knight@wantoday.com
