The Riverside Museum by Zaha Hadid Architects is derived from its context. The museum’s design flows from the city to the river; symbolizing a dynamic relationship where the museum is the voice of both, connecting the city to the river and also the transition from one to the other.
The American Society of Landscape Architects has announced the winners of the 2011 Professional Awards. The awards honor the top public places, residential designs, campuses, parks and urban planning projects from across the U.S. and around the world.
The Evelyn Grace Academy, a cutting-edge new secondary school in south London, has won the RIBA Stirling Prize 2011. Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects. It is the first school to win the RIBA Stirling Prize ever.
The park will become the world’s largest urban park with over 145,000,000 sq meters of public space and infrastructure. This and other projects of Iñaki Echeverria, Mexico City, will be on display at "Aedes am Pfefferberg" in Berlin, Germany. The exhibition runs from 28 Oct to 4 Dec 2011.
The Holcim Awards Gold 2011 for Europe was awarded to German architects realities:united for the Flussbad project in the World Heritage Site of Museumsinsel in Berlin. The Swiss based Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction conducts the competition in five regions across the world.
Some of the world's most iconic buildings and designs were awarded in London/UK with the 2011 Emirates Glass LEAF AWARDS. Overall Winner of 11 categories is OBR Open Building Research with the Milanofiori Residential Complex in Italy.
The University of California, Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive held a community open house to present the schematic design for its new facility. The project will unite a repurposed former UC Berkeley printing plant with a new structure.
