Entries were to evoke speed, dynamism and changes resulting from new communication technologies in these spaces where they are omnipresent and unavoidable. The jury evaluated the strong architectural background shown by Jon Ander Azpiazu Juaristi in his project for the Yenikapi site in Istanbul. It was impressed by the critical and challenging attitude to the main theme: dynamism, and by the strength of the visually impressive masses aligned to form a shore adjacent to the archaeological site recalling the ancient Theodosius Harbour. The second prize went to the project by Sergiy Prokof’yev and Olga Prokof’yeva from Ukraine that the jury selected as much for the audacity of the concept as for the quality of the treatment of public spaces and the environment. The jury awarded the third prize to the Turkish architects Abdusselam Selman Karaduman and Mehmet Fatih Bölük for their idea of an office space of the future “less” that presents an interesting approach for a unit that could stand alone or connected to a building structure. Elisabeth Siola represented UIA on the jury composed of the following architects: Dogan Hasol, Turkey, President of the jury; Alexander Korbut, Belarus; David Pace, Malta, Can Çinici, Turkey.
