Doors for All-Round Protection

Sound insulated up to 57 decibels, burglary protection up to WK 4, bulletproof, even from powerful Magnum bullets, or watertight to 1.50 metre water column: Teckentrup presented an extended and optimized range of doors at BAU 2011. A bulletproof door and a floodwater protection door are brand new additions to the range; and many functional doors have been improved.

The German door specialist showcased a number of improved doors to meet nearly every demand: From sound insulation and fire protection to burglary and floodwater protection.

Burglary protection and bulletproof door
In order to protect buildings against unwanted guests, Teckentrup offers doors up to resistance class WK 4, tested and approved in accordance with DIN EN 14351-1. A double-leaf, class WK 4 version was unveiled at BAU 2011. The steel dw 64-2 door "Teckentrup XL" ensures that particularly wide versions are possible - up to 2750 x 2500 millimetres. Multi-locking, bolt-secured hinges, high security cylinder lock with anti-drilling and extraction protection as well as security lever/knob handles provide excellent protection and stop burglars in their tracks. Self-locking panic bolts and full panic exit devices in accordance with EN 1125/EN 179 are available for emergency exits.

The resistance of the bulletproof door becomes apparent after the test: The holes created by bullets fired from a .44 handgun at a distance of five metres are clearly visible - but the bullets have not penetrated the door.

A new addition to the Teckentrup portfolio is the bulletproof steel dw 64-1 door "Teckentrup BP", tested in accordance with DIN EN 1522. It achieves class FB 4 (corresponds to Class M3 in accordance with German performance requirements) - which has the potential to stop a bullet from a "Magnum .44 handgun". The door is ideal for private and public buildings which require increased protection, e.g. embassies, court buildings, airports and banks.

Sound protection
Special insulation material and double seals are required to achieve high insulation values - and this is exactly what the new highly sound insulated "dw 67-1" door provides with insulated values of up to 57 dB. Even the double-leaf version "dw 67-2" achieves a noise protection level of 55 dB. It reduces noise pollution to a minimum on the side facing away from the noise source. Sound insulated doors provide a pleasant working atmosphere, reduce noise pollution, increase efficiency and ensure maximum health benefits. This is particularly important when different parts of a building are used for different purposes - for example in industrial buildings where offices are located next to production halls.

Multi-functional
Heat protection has become a major requirement when building new properties - as heat protection is also environmental protection. Door manufacturers therefore offer elements with excellent U values. Teckentrup provides many doors which combine heat protection with numerous other features, for example fire protection and burglary protection. The fire protection door T30-2 FSA "Teckentrup H" can, for example, be used for particularly high security requirements up to resistance class WK4.
The doors are available as a steel and stainless steel element; while numerous glazing versions and upper casings can create an individual look.

water column.

The floodwater protection door is a brand new product. It protects buildings against pressing or standing water to 1.5 metre water column, and is tested in accordance with PfB (test centre for building elements) regulations for floodwater-proof doors.

Fire protection
Teckentrup is a fire protection specialist, providing doors for all classes (including T60). At BAU 2011, the German company presented new solutions for lightweight construction walls and a previously approved connection to wooden supports as well as approvals for very large doors.

Creative freedom
Tubular profile doors represent a modern and transparent look. Numerous shapes and colours allow customers to express their creative abilities. Versions with top lights are also possible. Individual, light-flooded rooms can be designed with the help of glazed lateral parts and wall elements. The increased production capacity at the Großzöberitz plant ensures greater flexibility and delivery performance for these elements - doors, "Made in Germany".
